Flight Denied Boarding rules: If you also travel by flight, then there is important news for you. There are times during the journey when your flight is canceled by the airline itself (light cancellation rule) or you do not have boarding, in such a situation, passengers have to face trouble.

But do you know that DGCA gives you many facilities in such a situation? Civil Aviation Regulator DGCA has given many rights to the passengers, which you should know. Let us know about these rules.

According to the rules of DGCA, if your flight is canceled and you are not willing to travel on its alternate flight from the airline, then that airline has to refund the fare. In such a situation, the process of refund of fare under Airline CAR Section 3, Series M, Part-2 begins. That is, you will get your full money back.

According to the information given on the official website of DGCA, if the flight is canceled by the airline and you still want to travel after this, then it is the responsibility of the airline to make alternate arrangements for your travel without any extra charge. That is, you will be shifted to the next flight.

This was the convenience of your flight. Apart from this, if you have informed the airport about traveling on your real flight and waiting for an alternate flight, then it is the responsibility of the airline to make complete arrangements for your meals and breakfast.

As per the information provided by DGCA, you will not be entitled to any compensation if you do not accept the alternate travel arrangement offered by the airline or if the flight is canceled due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of the airline. That is, in this situation you will not get any refund.

Actually, flights with empty seats do not depart many times, in which case airlines usually overbook flights to a limited limit. In case of overbooking on a particular flight, more passengers report for the flight. In such a situation, the airline can deny you boarding. But you have rights for this too.

If you have a confirmed flight ticket and have arrived at the airport within the stipulated time before the flight departure. And if you leave your seat on your own volition, the airline can offer benefits or facilities according to its own. But if you want to travel and do not want to vacate the seat, then in this situation the airline will have to pay compensation to the passenger in the form of refund as per CAR, Section 3, Series M, Part IV.
