FASTag Holders Alert! Lost 1.20 lakh rupees in the process of getting refund on FASTag, you are also not doing this mistake

FASTag Online Fraud- In this age of digital, today a little carelessness can be very heavy for any person. Cybercriminals are sitting on the Internet setting their nets. They are looting people by giving other inducements including refunds, huge discounts.

New Delhi. In the last few years, cases of online fraud are increasing rapidly in India. Many such gangs are active, who can make you their victim and steal your data as well as money from your account. The same happened with a person from Mumbai when he lost Rs 1.20 lakh from his account due to the refund from FASTag.

According to the police, a businessman from South Mumbai had mistakenly sent more money to the FASTag account. To get the money back, he talked to the company’s customer care number from the internet. Actually that number was not of customer care but of thugs. The thugs hacked his mobile on the pretext of refund and withdrew money from his account.

It was expensive to get the number from the Internet.
In the complaint lodged at Mumbai’s MRA Marg police station, the person selling electric goods told that he had to go to Gujarat. That’s why he had to put money in the FASTag account of his car. He mistakenly put Rs 15,000 in the FASTag account instead of Rs 1,500. He searched the customer care of FASTag on the internet to get back the excess money. He got a number there.

On calling the number, the person who picked up the phone introduced himself as an employee of FASTag and promised to help in refunding the money. He asked the FASTag user to download an app on his phone. After downloading the app, the victim was asked to give some amount to get a refund. After doing this, money started coming out of his account. The hackers took out Rs 1.20 lakh from the victim’s account.

You should also be careful
in view of the increasing incidents of online fraud, now everyone needs to be very cautious. If ever the customer care number of any company or app is needed, then it should be taken from the official website of that company only. From where you are taking the number, do a thorough check of that website. It is happening that fraudsters often create websites with similar names and take people into trap. Apart from this, no unknown person should not give his personal information. Also, do not download any app on your phone or laptop at the behest of an unknown person.
