EPFO Pension Scheme: Big relief to EPS-95 pensioners! Now pensioners will get pension amount on time, know details quickly

Pensioners will no longer have to submit life certificate to EPFO. Pensioners can submit life certificate at any time. Pensioners were required to provide a copy of their death certificate every November.


Pensioners will have to submit an Annual Life Certificate to prove their continued behavior to receive their benefits without any interruption.

According to a tweet by EPFO, EPS-95 pensioners can now submit their life certificate at any time. It is valid for one year after the date of submission. That is, now lakhs of retired people will not have to go through the inconvenience of submitting life certificate in November.

It no longer requires a visit to the bank or post office. According to the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, pensioners can submit a digital life certificate using the doorstep banking alliance of 12 public sector banks or the doorstep service of the Department of Posts. Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of Central Government, State Government or any other government organization can avail this facility.

More than one crore families in India can be classified as pensioner families, where the pension distributed by various government bodies is the basis of their income and stability. There are about fifty lakh pensioners of the central government and an equal number of various state and union territory governments and various other government agencies. This includes pensioners of various public sector enterprises. Apart from this, the pension of army and defense personnel is more than twenty five lakhs.

A major requirement for pensioners after their retirement from service is to provide life certificates to the authorized pension disbursing agencies like banks, post offices etc., after which their pension is credited to their account. To obtain this life certificate, the pensioner needs to either appear personally before the pension disbursing agency or provide a life certificate issued by the authority where he has previously served.

Many government employees choose to move to a different place after their retirement either to live with their family or for other reasons, hence creating a huge logistical problem when it comes to accessing their correct pension amount. it occurs. For which it becomes necessary to obtain this certificate every year, so that pensioners can be given the benefit of pension.
