New Delhi. Every employee who contributes from his salary to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is eligible for pension after retirement. When pensioners retire in the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPD) , they are allotted a 12-digit Pension Payment Order (PPO) number. This PPO code is unique for each Employees’ Provident Fund subscriber or pensioner and serves as a reference number for every communication with the Central Pension Accounting Office.

How to check pension status on EPFO ​​portal ?

Visit the official website of EPFO ​​www.epfindia.gov.in to check pension status
Click on ‘Pensioners’ Portal’ under ‘Online Services’ on the EPFO ​​homepage
Here a new page ‘Welcome to Pensioners’ portal will appear.
Click on the option of ‘Know Your Pension Status’ on the left panel.
Select your office location under ‘Issued Office’ dropdown
Enter your Office ID and PPO number and then click on ‘Get Status’ option.

What is PPO number and how to get it?

Every pensioner employee is given a PPO number. The first five digits indicate the code number of the PPO issuing authority, the next two digits indicate the year of issue, the next four digits indicate the sequential number of the PPO and the last digit a check digit for computer purposes. Is.

The 12 digit PPO number is required when you apply for pension or submit annual life certificate. Actually, it is not possible to transfer PF account from one bank branch to another without PPO number. Any EPF pensioner can obtain PPO number using bank account number or PF number.
