This time the government will give interest on the EPF account at the rate of 8.1 percent.
Getting information about calculation of interest
According to media reports, EPFO has calculated the interest to be received in the PF account in the financial year 2021-22. Soon it will be transferred to the PF account of the account holders.
Interest accrues on the amount deposited in the account
How much PF interest will come in your account, it depends on how much money you have in your PF account. The amount deposited in the account will get interest at the rate of 8.1 percent. If Rs 1 lakh is deposited in your PF account, then at the rate of 8.1 percent, interest will come to your account at Rs 8,100 per annum. At the same time, if there is Rs 10 lakh, then Rs 81,000 will come as interest in the account.
Interest is calculated on the basis of monthly running balance that is deposited in the PF account every month. Interest is credited at the end of the year. However, it should be noted that interest is not available on the entire amount deposited in EPF. Interest is not available on the amount going to the pension fund in the PMF account.
How to check pf account balance
First of all go to EPFO website. Here select the option of For Employees from the dropdown of Our Services. Here click on Member Passbook. Login with UAN number and password. Select PF account and check balance.
You can also check balance with UMANG app
Apart from this, balance can also be checked through SMS. For this, send a message by typing ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’ on toll free 7738299899. Balance information will be found in the reply. EPF balance can also be checked from UMANG app.
