Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a single login portal ‘Passbook Lite’ to provide better, transparent and user-centric services to the members. Earlier, members had to login to EPFO’s passbook portal to check their PF contribution and withdrawal/advance transactions. Now EPFO has launched a new facility called ‘Passbook Lite’ in its member portal ( https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ ).
This information will be easily available
According to PIB, through the ‘Passbook Lite’ portal, members will be able to easily access their passbook, contribution, withdrawal, and balance information in a simple and concise format, without having to visit a separate passbook portal. This initiative will improve the user experience by providing all key services in a single login. Members can also continue to use the old passbook portal for detailed and graphical information. This move will not only provide member convenience but will also reduce the load on the existing portal and increase operational efficiency.
Online Annexure K facility
When employees change jobs, their PF account is transferred to the new employer’s PF office online through Form 13. Until now, the Transfer Certificate (Annexure K) generated after the transfer was shared only between PF offices and was available to members only upon request. Under the new system, members will now be able to download the Annexure K PDF directly from the member portal.

Facility to track transfer application status online, ensuring complete transparency. Ensuring that PF balance and service period are accurately updated in the new account. A permanent digital record will be available for future EPS benefits. This will promote ease, transparency, and trust in EPFO processes. Previously, services such as PF transfer, settlement, advance, and refund required multiple levels of approval from higher authorities (RPFC/Officer-in-Charge), which led to delays in processing.
A lot has become easier
Now, EPFO has simplified and streamlined this approval process. The powers previously vested in the RPFC/Officer-in-Charge have been delegated to Assistant PF Commissioners and lower-level officials. This reform has enabled faster claim settlement and reduced processing time. A simplified approval process has ensured improved service delivery. Accountability has increased at the regional office level, enabling faster, transparent, and better member satisfaction. This reform is a major step towards making EPFO services more transparent, faster, and member-centric, in the interest of Indian workers.
