This can be decided in the recently held Modi cabinet meeting and before the financial year, the employees can be paid a lump sum of the outstanding DA arrears from January 2020 to June 2021, but it did not happen.

According to media reports, C. Sreekumar, member of JCM and General Secretary of AIDEF, had also written a letter to the Cabinet Secretary in this regard. After this, the employees expected that along with increasing the dearness allowance, a decision could also be taken on the arrears in the Modi cabinet. , but the government announced to increase DA / DR and also decided to give three months arrears money from January to March but did not make any announcement on the outstanding arrears of 18 months, due to which there is anger among the employees. It is believed that the wait for the employees may be longer.

Last year, the council has put forth a demand in front of the government that while restoring DA, the pending DA arrears for 18 months should also be made one time settlement. This year also it was told by the employees that if they want, they can pay the arrears amount in three-four installments. The same Indian Pensioners’ Forum had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to intervene in this whole matter and issue instructions soon, but despite this no decision was taken. It was said that there is no thought on the arrears yet, in this meeting also the government remained silent, so the employees may have to wait longer for the arrears.

According to media reports, if the government makes one-time payment of DA arrears, then the employees will get the benefit of up to 2 lakh in salary. About 48 lakh central employees and 60 lakh pensioners will get its benefit. Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), says that if the payments are made, the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554, Level-13 (7th CPC original). DA of Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 is made on employees in the pay scale of Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or level-14 (pay scale).

Salary calculation on DA arrears

  • Central employees can get between Rs 1 lakh 44 thousand 200 to Rs 2 lakh 18 thousand 200 as DA arrears.
  • If the employee’s basic salary is Rs 18,000, he can get arrears of DA for 3 months (4,320+3,240+4,320) = Rs 11,880. The same other allowances can also be included in this.
  • Under the 7th Pay Commission, employees can get DA arrears from July to December 2020 on the minimum grade pay of Rs 3,240 [3 percent x 6 of 18,000]
  • The outstanding DA of Level-1 employees will be between 12 thousand to 37 thousand, while the outstanding DA of Level 14 employees will be Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200.
  • The basic salary of the employee is Rs 56,000. He will get DA arrear of 3 months (13,656 + 10,242 + 13,656) = Rs 37,554.
  • The DA arrears of Level-1 employees will range from Rs.11,880 to Rs.37,554. Level-13
  • (7th CPC Basic Pay Scale Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900) will be available.
