According to the latest media reports, at present central employees are getting the benefit of 34% DA. On the basis of the AICPI index, the dearness allowance of central employees may increase by about 5% in July. Although the figures for May and June are yet to come, after which it will be final that how much DA of employees will increase in July? If the minimum basic salary is 18,000, then according to 39% DA, the total increase in annual dearness allowance will be Rs 7020. Means dearness allowance will be paid by Rs.900 per month and Rs.10800 annually. The same is Rs.56,900, they will get Rs.21,622 as DA on 38% DA and salary will increase by Rs.2,276 per month i.e. annual salary will increase by Rs.27,312 i.e. total annual DA will be Rs 2,59,464.

According to media reports, after DA, the Modi government is also considering increasing the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68. If this happens then the basic salary will increase from 18000 to 26000. For example, the basic salary of an employee is calculated by multiplying the 7th Pay Commission fitment factor by 2.57. With the increase in the fitment factor, the minimum wage will also increase. If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260 profit. On 3.68, the salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000 X 3.68 = 95,680) i.e. Rs 49,420 in salary. If it is increased to 3 then the basic salary will be Rs 21000.


Apart from this, a decision can be taken soon on the outstanding DA arrears of 18 months of the much-awaited Central Government employees-pensioners. According to the latest media reports, the outstanding DA arrears from January 2020 to June 2021 can be paid soon. The government is going to reconsider this and a meeting of the Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) with the officials of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Expenditure may be held soon in this regard. Under the 7th Pay Commission, as a rough estimate, Level 13 employees will get Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 as DA arrears. The outstanding DA of Level 14 employees is to be given from Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200.
