State government has given gifts to thousands of government employees before Diwali. The government has announced an increase in the salaries of fixed salary employees. The government will increase the salaries of these employees by 30 percent. This announcement of the government will directly benefit 61,560 employees.


This increase in the salary of employees will be applicable from October. After this announcement, the state government will bear the additional expenses incurred for paying higher salaries. An additional payment of Rs 548 crore will be made to the employees annually.

Central government also increased DA

Earlier on October 17, the Central Government had announced to increase the DA of government employees. The government had given a big gift to the government employees on the occasion of Diwali for the year 2022-23. It has been announced to give non-productivity linked bonus or ad-hoc bonus to the employees. After this announcement, government employees will get an amount equal to 30 days’ salary.

Bonus to Railway Employees

After the announcement of DA, the government has also announced to give 78 days bonus to the railway employees. Railways has given this approval regarding bonus. Last year, the government had distributed a total Diwali bonus of Rs 1832 crore. Earlier, a total of more than 11 lakh Railway employees were given a Diwali bonus of Rs 17951 for 78 days.
