Salary Hike 2023: Central employees and pensioners can once again get a big gift. According to media reports, after Raksha Bandhan, dearness allowance and dearness relief of employee pensioners may increase by 3 percent, after which the total DA of central employees will be 45 percent. The new rates will come into effect from July 1, 2023, though no official announcement has been made yet, but it is estimated from the AICPI index data.

Government increases DA twice a year

Actually, the DA and DR rates of central government employees and pensioners are revised twice a year. The first hike is done in January and the second in July. The rates from January to June have been released and now the rates from July to December are to be released. This time also the increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief will be done according to the formula of the Seventh Pay Commission. The DA rates are determined by the figures of the AICPI index released by the Labor Department. However, the final decision rests with the Central Government. There is news that after the figures so far, DA may increase by 3 percent.

3 percent increase in DA possible

According to media reports, central employees may soon get the benefit of 45 per cent dearness allowance. At present, the employees are getting the benefit of 42 per cent DA, if there is a further increase of 3 per cent, then the DA will increase to 45 per cent. If the new rates will be applicable from July, then arrears will also be available. This will benefit 47.58 lakh employees and about 69.76 lakh pensioners. The Modi government can take a decision on this in September. Earlier in March, DA was increased by 4 percent. After which DA was increased from 38% to 42%.

How much will the salary increase if there is 45% DA or DR?

If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000, then the salary will increase according to 45% DA. For example if the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 18000, then on this he gets 42% DA i.e. Rs 7560 and when it is 46%, it will be Rs 8280 per month, accordingly the salary will increase by Rs 7560 Will be 720 will increase every month. If someone’s salary is Rs 56,900, then he will get Rs 2,276 per month and Rs 27,312 annually. If someone gets a basic pension of Rs 30,000 a month, then he gets Rs 44,400 as dearness relief. After the 4% DR hike, this money will increase to Rs 42,600, which means there will be an increase of Rs 800 in pension every month.
