Facebook-owned WhatsApp, one of the most popular instant messaging applications, keeps adding new features to its platform. Recently, this Facebook-owned messaging platform launched some new features including WhatsApp Payments Payments. The WhatsApp Pay button allows users to send and receive money on the messaging app. Now, if you have already added your card details on WhatsApp, you will not have to download a separate app to send money.

Do you know that along with chatting and media sharing, users can also transfer money to other users through chat on WhatsApp. According to the app, there is a simple setup for fast transfers – any user using the UPI-based app will only need to add their bank account once to send and receive money on WhatsApp.




How to register for WhatsApp Pay

Step 1: To use this feature, you need to open a WhatsApp account and tap on the three-dots menu at the top right corner.

Step 2: Then, you will find the Payments option above the Settings. Tap on Add payment method, you will get a pop-up for ‘Accept and Continue’.

Step 3: A list of banks will open on the page, in which you have to select your bank

Step 4: Next, tap on your bank account. Then, click on ‘Done’.

Step 5: After completing the process, you will be able to view your UPI ID, your payment history and linked bank account.


How to send money through WhatsApp Pay

Step 1: First of all, open your WhatsApp account on your device. Tap on Payment option in the three-dots menu

Step 2: In the lower right corner of the screen, you will find the New Payment option. A list of contacts saved in your WhatsApp account will pop-up on the page.

Step 3: Select Send to UPI ID, Enter Receiver Name > Verify > Enter Amount > Press Next > Enter UPI PIN.

Step 4: Apart from this process, you can tap on the contact to whom you want to send money / tap on the attach button in the chat and select the payment option.

Step 5: Enter the amount and verify your UPI PIN. On entering the PIN, your payment will be processed / you will be redirected to your WhatsApp chat, where the amount transferred by you will appear in the chatbox.
