e-Shram card holders: Big news! Now e-Shram card holders will get Rs 500 per month, Register immediately

If you are a laborer in the unorganized sector, you have an e-Shram card and are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, then there is good news for you. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced to give five hundred per month to about 2.5 crore laborers and about 60 lakh registered laborers in the unorganized sector from December to March. Let us inform that so far 25691084 workers of UP have registered themselves on the e-shram portal and now they will get 500 rupees every month till March.


Among the people who have e-shram card in UP, the maximum number of 1.24 crore workers are associated with the agriculture sector. According to the data given on the e-shram portal, the second number is household workers, whose number is 4039153. At the same time, the number of workers engaged in the construction sector is 2442088. Let us tell you that the target is to register about 38 crore workers in the country on the e-shram portal. Of these, more than 12.20 crore workers have been registered so far.

Talking about the workers of UP who have registered on the e-shram portal, then the people of Purvanchal are at the forefront. Till now Kushinagar is on top in this. Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar and Gonda district are named after Kushinagar. 926176 people of Kushinagar district have registered and 892879 workers of Maharajganj. At the same time, 799985 workers from Gorakhpur and 635513 from Bahraich are registered.

Women ahead in registering

Women of Uttar Pradesh are far ahead than men in registering on the e-shram portal. According to the data given on the e-shram portal till December 16, 2021, the number of women who got the e-shram card is 51.17 percent and that of men is 48.83 percent. If we talk about the age group, then 62.83 percent of them belong to the age group of 18 to 40 years. At the same time, the lowest 5.87 percent are workers in the age group of 16-18 years. The percentage of those above 50 is 10.89 and 20.41 percent of those 40-50.

Insurance up to Rs 2 lakh

Let us tell you that the workers of the unorganized sector will be eligible for insurance up to Rs 2 lakh under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana after registering with this portal. There is no need to pay premium for this. Apart from this, various types of social security benefits will also be distributed through e-shram. It will be easy to get help from the central and state governments in difficult situations like disaster or epidemic.

Let us tell you that in order to register on the Eshram portal by a worker, you must have an aadhaar number, mobile number, which is linked to aadhar and bank account. In case a worker does not have Aadhar linked mobile number, he/she can visit nearest CSC and register through Biometric Authentication.

You can directly call the helpdesk number, after verifying your credentials, your mobile number will be updated on the eSHRAM portal. Alternatively, you can also visit the eSHRAM portal or the nearest CSC/SSK’s center to update the mobile number.

Who are the workers of unorganized sector

Any worker who is a home-based worker, self-employed worker or a salaried worker working in the unorganized sector and is not a member of ESIC or EPFO, is called an unorganized worker. For example, if you teach tuition or have a sewing shop, you still fall into this category.
