Dussehra Holiday Update: Schools Extend Break for Students – Here’s What You Need to Know

School Holidays: There’s some good news for school students. This Dussehra, children will be doubly happy. Holidays have been announced in various states across the country for Navratri and Dussehra.

The state government has once again revised the Dussehra holiday. A calendar for this has also been released. The Andhra Pradesh government has made a significant announcement regarding the Dussehra holiday changes.

Where will the school remain closed for how many days?

In Karnataka, schools will be closed from September 20th to October 6th for Dussehra. In Telangana, schools will be closed from September 21st to October 3rd. In Andhra Pradesh, schools will be closed from September 22nd to October 2nd. Karnataka will have the longest school closure period, followed by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Official notification released

State Education Minister Nara Lokesh has issued an official notification regarding the Dussehra holidays. According to the notification issued by the Andhra Pradesh government, the holidays will begin on September 22nd and continue until October 2nd. Schools will resume operations on October 3rd. The holiday was originally scheduled for September 24th, but has now been pushed back by two days.

Students get more holidays

In this situation, students will benefit from extended holidays. The Education Department has instructed all schools to strictly adhere to the holiday schedule. It has also clarified that the two working days lost due to the holidays will be adjusted later in the academic calendar. Consequently, students up to grade 12 will benefit from extended holidays.
