In Andhra Pradesh, there is an uproar over the ambitious Jagannath education gift scheme launched by the YSSR CP government . State Education Minister Adimulku Suresh has criticized some for spreading false propaganda that the Jagannath Education Gift Scheme is not for the state government. He said it was a state government scheme for Mummati. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy came up with the idea that poverty should not be an obstacle to education. Other states in the country are also looking at the scheme.

100% of the funds are from the state.
Minister Suresh criticized the central government for saying that the scheme was a hoax. Is there such a scheme anywhere in the country? The minister questioned whether the state government had allocated 100 per cent funds for the scheme. Just Rs. Only Rs 100 crore was received. However, the state government has spent Rs 293 crore to provide 3 pairs of uniforms. The mothers said they were crediting the amount of sewing labor for the clothes.

Minister Suresh said that we will tell ourselves publicly if funds come from the central government. Jagannath is distributing kits to 43 lakh students at a cost of Rs 650 crore. For school bags Rs. 69.44 crore and Rs. 79.05 crore, for shoes and two pairs of socks, Rs. 67.75 crore and Rs. 10.13 crore and Rs. 29.70 crore has been allotted. The minister said the government was ready to take immediate action if any Jagannath education kits were found anywhere.
