This is the new law

1. According to the new proposal, two-wheelers such as bikes, scooters, scooters, etc. should not exceed a speed limit of 40 km / h when riding a child on a motorcycle until the age of 6 years.

2. The driver of a two-wheeled vehicle will be wearing a cross helmet for children between the ages of 6 months and 7 years.

3. According to MORTH, motorcyclists will use a safety horn to take children under the age of 6 on their bikes or scooters.

How to protect your child

A safety deer is a jacket worn by a child, the size of which can be adjusted. Wearing it improves the child’s safety. Because it works to keep the child tied. In fact, the safety horns have some ribbons on the shoulders of the driver.


Advice and objections until November 

The ministry also sought public objections to the proposal. For example, bikes have safety horns to protect children. The car also comes with Child Lock and other features. These features enhance the safety of children.

Effective January 2023

By the end of November, officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had reportedly objected to the notification. Whatever objections come up, they will be resolved. The gazette will then be revised. The statement made it clear that the new rules would apply a year after the amendment. This means that once the objections are resolved, it will be amended, and will be effective one year later by the end of 2022, or by January 2023.

An average of 31 children die in accidents a day

According to the Ministry of Road Transport, 11,17 children were killed in road accidents across the country in 2017. According to the report, an average of 31 children died in a single day, accounting for eight percent of all road accidents. The number was 11.7 percent higher than the previous year.
