In today’s article, we are going to see how to apply for a new driving license online. That too without going to the RTO office. Yes friends, there have been many changes in the process.
In today’s article, I will show you the new process. Now you can make your license sitting at home using Aadhaar number and mobile number. So first of all, for those who do not know how a driving license is made, let me tell you. There are a total of two steps in it, in which the first step is to apply for a learning license. Whenever you apply, you have to give an online test and after the test your learning license number is generated. You get a validity of up to 6 months on this. Now in the middle of this validity, you have to apply for a permanent i.e. regular license. Whose validity is between 10 to 15 years. Depends on what your age is. So I will show you the whole process.
- First of all you have to open your browser. Here you have to search for transport service.
- So the official website of the government parivahan.gov.in will come in front of us.
- You will see that its interface has completely changed from before.
- Now we want to apply for a new driving license.
- So in this page we will come down. An option of driver learning license will appear on which we will click.
- You will be asked to select the state here.
- So whichever state you are from, you will get to see the names of all the states.
- You have to make the selection. This page will reload automatically and an interface like this will come in front of all of you.
- You will see that today there are many such RTO services which we can access online in a digital way.
- For these we do not need to go to the RTO office.
- So here we have to apply for a new learning license.
- So we will click on the option of Apply for Learning License.
- The process flow will come which I am going to show you live. Click on the option of Continue.
- Now here you will see two methods of making the license, one of which is to make it by authenticating through Aadhaar. The second is without Aadhaar authentication.
- So here Aadhaar authentication is a very amazing option.
- If you select this, then you do not need to go to the RTO office.
- You can give its test sitting at home on your computer. Its password will come on your mobile phone.
- If you want to go offline, want to make it from the RTO office, then you have to click on the second option.
- So we want our work to be done while sitting at home. So the first option is Submit via Aadhaar Authentication, click on this option and click on the submit option.
- It will be told here that your mobile number should be linked to your Aadhaar. Only then this process will work.
- So we have selected the option of Aadhaar number here. We will enter our 12 digit Aadhaar number here and click on the option of Request OTP, then an OTP will come on your phone.
- So you have to enter it here and you have to accept the terms and conditions of Aadhaar to do KYC.
- Click on all three options and then you have to click on the option of Ethnicity.
- So you will see that within a few seconds whatever data we had on the Aadhaar card, that data has been automatically fetched here.
- That is, you get all these details auto filled. You have to click on the option of Proceed.
- As we click, a popup will come where it is told that your pin code is registered on your Aadhar card, according to this your RTO office is mentioned here, like I am from Lucknow, then it is told here that your Lucknow RTO can be Transport Nagar or Gomti Nagar which is the RTO office, it can be either of these two, so one thing is shown here that if you do not see the correct RTO office here, then you have been asked to mail, then this will not happen, it will happen in rare cases, you have to click on the OK option.
- Now as there are two RTO offices in my city. So here you will see that a list of RTO offices has come.
- So according to our location, like which RTO is it, then you will select the old RTO Transport Nagar.
- If it is Gomti Nagar then you have to select it. If there is only one RTO office in your city, then only one will be shown to you. After this you will see that mostly the information has already been filled here.
- You have to enter whatever blanks you see here in which information is not present.
- You have to come to the top place of birth section. You have to enter your place of birth.
- If the state is changed then you have to mention the name of the state along with it. Otherwise you can enter the name of your city.
- In the country of birth section, select India.
- Your qualification is less than 8th or more than 10th. So many options are given. Whatever is the level of qualification, you have to select it.
- So we have selected the option of 10 + 2 or equivalent. You have to come to the mobile number section. Here you have to enter the mobile number which is linked to your Aadhaar.
- So we have entered it here. Emergency mobile number is also asked. So you can give the emergency mobile number of any member of your family.
- If available. However, it is not necessary that this is a secondary mobile number. You will also be asked to enter your email ID. So, enter your Google email ID here.
- There will be a section of identification marks. Here, if you have any identification marks on your body like mole, wart or any injury mark through which your body can be identified, then you have to tell. However, this is also up to you.
- If you do not want to tell, then you can skip this as well.
- You have to come to the address section. Here, you will see that if we make a driving license with Aadhaar, then the address in it is the same as that of Aadhaar.
- You will see that what used to happen was that we could manually enter our permanent and current address. In this case, you will see that your state is already locked.
- Whatever address was on our Aadhar card, it has been fetched here. Whatever blanks are there here, like the name of the tehsil, are not already selected here.
- We will choose the name of our tehsil and the name of the village from the list here. And after this, if some things are missing in the permanent address section, then you will click on the option of same age present here, then this address will be automatically copied here as well.
- For how many days have you been residing at this address, it may be for a few years, 5 years, 10 years or if you are residing since birth, then you have to calculate from the year of date of birth here. You have to enter the number of years as your age here. You can also enter zero in the month section.
- So in this way we have completed the address section. Now comes the turn of vehicle class selection. Now here you have to select the driving license for whichever vehicle you want to drive. So first of all multiple types of vehicles will be shown to you here.
From which you have to select for which vehicles you want to make your driving license. So for example, if you want to make a driving license to drive a motorcycle with gear, then you have to select this option. Now after selecting it, you have to take it to the selected section. So what you have to do is tick on it and as its color changes, after that click on the arrow shown and then you will see that this vehicle type has come in the section of the sections. In the same way, if you want to make a driving license to drive a car, then you will select the option of personal vehicle or light motor vehicle. If you want to make it to drive any other vehicle, then you can make the selection in the same way.
Now after doing this, all of you are also asked here whether any driving license has been issued to you before? Has it been cancelled? Has it been suspended? So if something like this has happened, then you have to tell. There is nothing in my case. We are applying fresh. All of you will also be asked whether you have received training to drive a vehicle through any driving school, this is not the case in my case. If it is in your case, then if you tick here, then the option to select the name of the driving school will come. In my case, this is also not applicable. So what do we have to do now? We have to come to the declaration section. Here you have to fill a self-declaration form, which is form number one, you can fill it online digitally. We will click on this. So a popup will come in front of us in which some questions have been asked about physical fitness in which our eyes can judge the distance correctly. Can feel the difference between red and green. You do not have any physical problem of any kind. So you have to do the section in the same way as I have done the selection. All the questions given here will have a yes in one and after this there will be a no in all the other questions. If you are not completely healthy then you have to read and tick correctly.
Now here we have ticked on this and will click on the option of I hear bye. If you click on the option of submit, then as soon as the physical fitness certificate is completed here, the message of success will come. Now if you select any wrong option here, then you will not be able to proceed further. So you have to keep this thing in mind. So I have filled it here correctly. Will click on the option of OK. Now after this, all of you are also asked that after death do you want to donate the body part? So if you want to enable it, then you can say yes. For the rest, you will click on the option of no and whatever instructions we are giving here are completely correct. The photo that we have on our Aadhar card is also the latest because this photo will be put on the learning license. The captcha code shown here, you have to enter the same here and now we have to click on the submit option. Then you will see that the congratulation message has come. Our application number has been generated and has come in front of us.
If you want to print this form, you can print it. Otherwise, take a screenshot of it and save it in your phone. We have to click on the next tab. A captcha code will appear here. We will enter it and click on the submit option. So now the status page of the application will appear in front of us. Where you will see that whatever information was asked inside the application form, we have entered it. Now here comes the turn to upload the photo and signature, the photo is used here through Aadhaar only. You only have to upload the signature. To do this, click on the proceed tab. As we clicked on the tab of Proceed, the section for uploading photo and signature has appeared here. What should be the size of the signature? So you have to keep the signature in a rectangle. If you have captured it from a mobile phone then you will have to resize it because its file size becomes large. The signature you want to upload should be within 10 to 20 KB and you can upload it in JPG format. So if the size of your file is large then you can use our website.
If you search for Sarkari DNA tools, this page will come up where you have to click on the option of resize the photo and here the size of the signature that we want to resize is large, so we will select the file here and reduce it as much as you want and you will see perfectly that this file has become 16 KB. We can upload it. Click on the download option and we will browse and select this file. Click on the option of upload and view file. So here you will see that our signature has arrived. Now let me tell you one thing here. As you will see that the photo is going to be used for Aadhaar. We do not need to upload the photo. We have been given the option of proceed with Aadhaar photo. But if you come down, more options are given here. The option to upload the photo is also visible here. So here I am making one thing clear that the photo should be uploaded only by those people whose Aadhar card photo is not clear. If you want to upload your latest photo then you can upload it. But in this case what will happen is that your application will be reviewed. That is, your photo is uploaded because the test will be online. So for this you should upload the photo that matches the Aadhar. If you want to upload a new one then you can do it. But the officer will do the physical verification. After that your password will come to you.
So we do not want to take any risk. We will click on the option Proceed with Aadhar. Our latest photo is uploaded here. Click on the OK option and click on the Next tab. The captcha code will be shown here. Enter it the same. Click on the Submit option. So here you will see that the section of photo and signature has also been completed here. Now it is time to pay the fee. So click on the Proceed tab. So here we have selected two vehicles. So according to that we have to pay a total fee of ₹350 for making the learning license. Here this fee varies that how many vehicles you have added for giving the test. So here in my case, we have added for driving motorcycle with gear and light motor vehicle i.e. car and bike. So according to that we have to pay a total fee of ₹350. This is the fee for learning license and the fee for regular license is around ₹1000 for both the vehicles. So here we have selected the common PGI option. We will enter the captcha code that will be shown and save it and click on the option of Pay Now and accept the terms and conditions. Click on the option of Proceed for Payment. So here you have to come to the section of Select Payment. Select the SBI option. Click on the option of Submit. So now the payment gateway has come in front of you all.
Where you can make online payment through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. So if you make this payment through UPI, then there is no additional charge. If you make payment through debit card, then there is no charge. But in case of credit card, some charges will be levied. So what will we do here? We will make payment through UPI. In UPI also you get two methods. Either you can enter UPI ID or you can do it by scanning the QR code. So if you are doing it from any other mobile phone, then select the way you scan the merchant’s QR code. If you click on the confirm option, a QR code will appear. You will scan it. Now you do not have to stay on this page nor do you have to go back. You have to wait a little. This page will reload automatically and the success message will appear in front of all of you. You have to print its receipt slip here. So click on the option of print receipt. So here we will select this slip. To download, click on the option of print. So here you will see that this receipt slip is for which we have made online payment of ₹ 350 fee.
So here this slip has been downloaded. We will keep it safe with us. Now here to fill the further application form, you will not see any option to go next because after making the payment, now you have to go to the home page manually and here you will see an option of application status. We have to click on this option. We will enter the application number that we have received. We will enter the date of birth here. The captcha code will be entered here. Click on the option of submit. So here the current status of your application will be shown. Like in my case you will see that we have successfully made the payment of fees. Now here this learning license is like the one we are going to make by testing online through Aadhaar. So for this we do not need to go inside the RTO office.
That is why you will see that the option of booking LL slot in RTO is written as Exempted. That means we do not need to go to RTO office. But if you have to give its test sitting at home, then before that there is a road safety tutorial video of a government which you have to watch, only then you will get your user ID password. So you see, in this way we can apply for learning license.
After applying, you have to give the test for this, for this you have to watch the video that I told you. After this you get the user ID password. And if you have uploaded the photo physically, then you may have to wait for one to two days. Your documents will be physically verified that you have uploaded your own photo. After that the password will come on your phone. Now after getting the password here, you have to login through this password. You have to give your test online. After the test, your driving license will be generated. You get validity of up to 6 months on this.
Now if someone has failed here, then he also does not need to worry. You have to pay ₹ 50 fee online for retest and you will go to this portal and click on the option of retest fee payment and after paying the fee from here, you can sit in the test again. You get a total of three attempts. If you are not able to clear within three attempts, then you will have to visit the RTO office.
