The waiting list in trains going to UP-Bihar has become long, so the air fare has broken the record of the last three years. For the last three years, airline companies troubled by the impact of Corona are trying to make huge profits in the festive season.

New Delhi. The festive season has started in the country, which will last for almost the next two months. In this two months, where the businessmen are going to get silver, the common people are finding it difficult to overcome many problems. One of these problems is the problem of going home during Diwali, Chhath and Durga Puja. Let us tell you that the waiting list in trains going to UP-Bihar has become longer, then the air fare has broken the record of the last three years. For the last three years, airline companies troubled by the impact of Corona are trying to make huge profits in the festive season. For this, airline companies have raised the price of tickets to the sky. At this time flights going to Patna, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ranchi, Deoghar and Darbhanga have become very expensive.

Let us tell you that during the Corona period, the central government had fixed the minimum and maximum limits of air fare in the country. Now the government has removed it. Its effect is now clearly being seen on airfare, especially on flights going to UP, Bihar and Jharkhand. If we talk about the air fare from Delhi to Patna, then it has increased by about 150 percent compared to normal days. Not only Delhi-Patna, but also on Delhi-Ranchi, Delhi-Varanasi, Delhi-Darbhanga and Delhi-Deoghar routes.

Delhi-Patna airfare skyrocketed

Significantly, during the Corona period, airlines could not charge a passenger less than Rs 2,900 (excluding GST) and more than Rs 8,800 (excluding GST) for domestic flights of less than 40 minutes. But, now after the removal of its limit, airline companies have raised the airfare to the sky. Also, amidst inflation, airline companies are also troubled by Aviation Turbine Fuel.

How much was the airfare three years ago

At present, airfares on most of the busy air routes in the country have reached the highest level compared to the last few years. At present, the airfare around Diwali is 40 percent more than the Corona period. At the same time, if you compare it with the year 2019, then the airfare has increased by about two to three times.

Why air fare increases during Diwali and Chhath

Till a few days ago, flight tickets were available for around Rs 5000 to go from Delhi to Patna. But, now around Rs 15000 per passenger (excluding tax) is being booked on this route. It is believed that in the next few days it will cross Rs 17000. If we talk about the Mumbai-Patna route, till a few days ago, air tickets were available around Rs 7500, but in view of Chhath, Diwali and Dussehra, the fare has crossed Rs 20,000. Similarly, the prices of flight tickets from Hyderabad to Patna, Bangalore to Patna, Chennai to Patna have also doubled.

Airlines companies have different arguments for increasing the fare of flights going to Patna, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ranchi, Deoghar and Darbhanga. Companies believe that air ticket prices are rising because airfares are determined by the number of passengers and the number of seats available in the flight. In the festive season, especially the people of UP-Bihar go to their homes from other cities of the country. This is the reason why there is an increase in the fare of flights going to Bihar, UP and Jharkhand from big cities.
