Instead, the holiday has been declared on October 20 (Monday). This year (2025), Diwali will be celebrated on Monday, October 20, along with Lakshmi Puja.
The date of Navamas will remain till the evening of October 21, but due to Lakshmi Puja during the Pradosh period, Diwali will be celebrated on October 20 in most places. As a result, October 20 (Monday) will be the main Diwali holiday. In most states, Diwali holidays last for three to six days. The holidays run from Dhanteras (October 18) to Bhai Dooj (October 23).
