Govt New rule: Big news! Govt to bring ‘One Digital ID’ that links PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Aadhaar

New Delhi. In the coming times, every person in the country will have a single digital ID. With this, all the documents including Aadhaar, PAN card, driving license and passport will be linked to each other.

In the proposed draft, the ministry has suggested that this unified digital identity will empower the citizen by keeping these identity cards under control and provide them the option to choose which one to use for what purpose. The proposal is expected to go public soon and the ministry will seek public comments by February 27.

IDs of all states will also be linked

Under this unified digital identity, the identity cards of different states along with the central can also be kept together. Also this digital ID can be used to avail other third party services through EKYC. Further, all the digital identities of a citizen can be interlinked, which will eliminate the need for repeated verification process as per the draft proposal.
