Aviation Regulatory DGCA has issued an order for this. Earlier on January 19, the suspension of these flights was extended till February 28.

Significantly, due to Corona in the country, scheduled international passenger flights were suspended from March 23, 2020. But, then from July 2020, special passenger flights are being operated between India and about 45 countries under the air bubble arrangement.

The order will not apply to these operations.

According to this circular, the Competent Authority has announced that the extension of suspension of Scheduled International Commercial Passengers Services in India and from here till further orders will continue till further orders. It has also been said in this circular that this restriction will not apply to all international cargo operations and in particular flights approved by DGCA.

It has also been said in the circular that passenger flights will not be affected under the air bubble arrangement. Earlier, DGCA had announced on November 26, 2021 that India would resume scheduled international passenger flights from December 15, 2021.

DGCA had canceled
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had asked the Civil Aviation Ministry and the DGCA to review their decision. The PM had said that it should be reviewed in view of the growing concerns about the Covid-19 variant Omicron. After this, on December 1, 2021, DGCA canceled its decision of November 26 without informing. It was not clear how long the suspension of scheduled international flights would continue.
