During the peak hours, due to technical fault on the route from Indralok to Pitampura, the operation of trains had to be stopped. In such a situation, the operation of Delhi Metro trains had to be stopped where they were running.

The Delhi Metro, the lifeline of lakhs of people of Delhi-NCR, is running normally since Saturday morning, but before that, passengers were upset due to the breakdown of OHE (over head equipment) on the Red Line, the oldest metro corridor of Delhi Metro. During this, the operation of Delhi Metro was affected for about two and a half hours. During this, the operation of metro between Pitampura to Inderlok was stalled for 50 minutes. Due to this, commuters had to face trouble in the traffic between Rithala to Ghaziabad New Bus Adda during peak hours in the evening. The rush of passengers also increased at many stations. Due to this, entry of passengers was stopped at many stations. Metro operations on the Red Line became normal after the OHE was fixed at eight o’clock in the night.

On the other hand, during the peak hours, due to technical fault on the route from Indralok to Pitampura, the operation of trains had to be stopped. In such a situation, where the Delhi Metro trains were running, they had to stop there. When the problem was not resolved for a long time, the train operators had to evacuate the passengers by opening the emergency gate, after which people walked on the track to the nearest station.

On the other hand, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the OHE wire of the up line (metro track from Rithala to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda) between Kanhaiya Nagar to Indralok broke at 5:35 pm. Due to this the metro going towards New Bus Adda Ghaziabad came to a halt. After this the passengers were taken off the metro. Due to this incident, the operation of Metro between Pitampura to Inderlok was completely closed from 5:35 pm to 6:25 pm. After 6:25 pm, the operation of the metro was started on the single line between Pitampura to Indralok. During this, most of the metros going from New Bus Adda Ghaziabad towards Rithala were returning from Inderlok station itself.

At the same time, many trains going from Rithala to Kashmere Gate, Dilshad Garden and New Bus Adda Ghaziabad were returning from Pitampura itself. Due to this, the frequency of the metro also decreased on the entire part of the Red Line and passengers had to wait for the metro for a long time. However, DMRC says that the operation between New Bus Adda to Inderlok and Rithala to Pitampura was normal.
