Delhi Metro Routine Changed: Big news for passengers! The entire routine of Delhi Metro has changed, know details

Delhi Metro Routine Changed: In view of pollution in Delhi, Delhi Metro has announced to run 40 additional trips on all its networks every weekday from October 25.

Due to increasing pollution in the capital Delhi, the second phase of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has been implemented. Many types of restrictions have been imposed under GRAP. In view of this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to increase the frequency of metro. Delhi Metro will run 40 additional trips on all its networks on every working day i.e. weekday from October 25 i.e. Wednesday. This decision will provide some relief to the people of Delhi. At the same time, the entire routine of Delhi Metro will also change.

In fact, due to increase in pollution levels on Saturday, the air quality in Delhi and NCR had reached the poor category. On Sunday, the air index in Delhi had crossed 300 and reached the very poor category. In view of this, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) had directed to increase the frequency of Delhi Metro by implementing the rules of the second phase of GRAP in Delhi-NCR. People were also appealed to leave private vehicles and travel by public vehicles and metro.

Metro makes 4300 trips daily

Only after receiving the instructions, Delhi Metro started preparing for it. According to DMRC Chief Executive Director Anuj Dayal, at present Delhi Metro makes about 4300 trips every day. Keeping in mind the instructions of CAQM, Delhi Metro will run 40 additional trips on every working day (Monday to Friday) except Saturday and Sunday. After this the total number of trips of Delhi Metro will be 4340. The people of Delhi NCR will benefit from the increase in metro frequency. With this, they will be able to leave their personal vehicles and travel in the metro.
