Mask mandatory in Delhi Metro trains: Under the rules of the Operations and Maintenance Act on behalf of Delhi Metro, there is a provision of a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing a mask or violating the rules.


If metro passengers are caught not following the Covid rules, then they are fined 200 rupees. This action is taken under Section 59 of the Act for creating nuisance (not wearing face mask and not following social distancing) and not following travel guidelines etc.

New Delhi. The Delhi Government is now very serious about the cases of Corona Virus patients increasing rapidly in Delhi. With the provision of a fine of Rs 500, the Kejriwal government has strictly implemented the decision to make it mandatory to wear masks for the meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). After the issuance of this order, now a strict advisory has been issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the passengers.

Meanwhile, under the rules of the Operations and Maintenance Act (O&M Act) from Delhi Metro, there is a provision of a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing a mask or violating the rules. If metro passengers are caught not following the Covid rules, then they are fined 200 rupees. An official statement has been issued on behalf of Delhi Metro’s Chief Executive Director (Corporate Communication) Anuj Dayal, advising the metro commuters to follow the guidelines issued from time to time for proper behavior of Covid-19 during their journey. It is necessary for the passengers to wear face masks/covers etc., following the covid proper behavior for the betterment of themselves as well as others. According to the new orders, in the event of not doing so, the passengers will also be punished.

According to the metro official, to ensure the ongoing measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, there will also be flying squads who will work to ensure that all Covid safety protocols are followed inside and outside the train premises. He has advised the passengers to strictly follow the Covid rules during the journey.

Let us inform that in the meeting of DDMA held on April 20, several decisions were taken to prevent the spread of Covid, including the mandatory wearing of masks and the imposition of a fine of Rs 500. Orders in this regard have been issued by SM Ali, Special Secretary, Health Department, Delhi Government on Friday.
