Commuters traveling by Delhi Metro are going to get relief soon. Now commuters can pay for their metro journey through their debit and credit cards.



New Delhi. If you travel by Delhi Metro then there is good news for you. Now traveling in metro has become easier than before. No need to wait in long queues to recharge smartcards or buy tokens. Actually, now there will be no need of token or smart card to travel by metro. Now commuters can pay for their metro journey through their debit and credit cards. New Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) machines are being installed for this by DMRC.

New machines being installed at 44 stations

Apart from smart cards, you will also be able to pay metro fare through debit and credit cards, Near Field Communication (NFC), QR code-based ticketing mobile phones and paper QR tickets. DMRC has started installing Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system at 44 stations during the fourth phase.

DMRC official said that in addition to cashless and human error free transactions in the new system, more digitization of services will be encouraged. Passengers will be able to use their credit or debit cards as smart cards. This facility is currently available only on the Airport Express Line in the capital.
