With the new update from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), booking tickets for Delhi Metro will be a matter of seconds. Recently Delhi Metro and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to introduce QR code based ticketing for Delhi Metro service through IRCTC portal.

Metro tickets will be available from the IRCTC app

If you use the IRCTC website to buy tickets for trains, flights or buses, you can now easily get QR code-based tickets for DMRC rides as well. Just use IRCTC’s Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) and pay a small fee of Rs 5. That way you won’t have to wait in long lines.

IRCTC and DMRC signed MoU

An official statement said that passengers using DMRC services can now secure Metro QR code tickets through the IRCTC app. It has been said in the statement that under a strategic alliance, IRCTC and Delhi DMRC have taken this step to improve the service for the passengers. To introduce QR code-based ticketing for DMRC service using the IRCTC portal. This is being done under ‘One India-One’. MoU has been signed between IRCTC and DMRC to enhance convenience and ease of travel for passengers under One India-One Ticket initiative.

DMRC shared the update

Delhi Metro has also shared an update for the passengers of Pink Line. Especially for those who frequently use Sarojini Nagar Metro Station. DMRC has changed the entry and exit points. To handle the increasing number of passengers especially on weekends, extra entry and exit gates have been made at the station. This will reduce the time spent by the passengers in the queue.
