DMRC officials said on Sunday that the trial run of the Metro between Dwarka Sector 21 and IICC on the Airport Express Line has started.



New Delhi. There is good news for the people traveling by Delhi Metro. The trial run has been started on the two kilometer long Dwarka Sector-21 to IICC Metro section on the Airport Express Line. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) gave this information on Sunday.

Expected to be operational by July
DMRC chief Vikas Kumar had said on May 3 that the Metro operation between Dwarka Sector 21 and IICC Sekesh is expected to be operational by July. The India International Convention Center (IICC) located in Dwarka Sector 25 is an underground station and an extension of the currently operational Airport Express Line connecting New Delhi Railway Station to Dwarka Sector 21 from Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport.


Airport Express Line Corridor will be 24.70 km long
DMRC said that with the completion of this section, India International Convention Center (IICC) Airport Express Line Corridor at Dwarka Sector-25 from New Delhi will be 24.70 km long. DMRC said, “Trial operations have been started on the two kilometer long Dwarka Sector-21 to Dwarka Sector-25 (IICC) metro section on the Airport Express Line.”

The signaling system is tested during the test operation. Compulsory inspection will be carried out by various approval authorities including the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRC) after the completion of the trial operations. After these mandatory clearances, this section will be opened for passenger transport..
