Delhi Metro: A big news is coming for the passengers traveling in Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a fare hike. The new fare has also been implemented from today i.e. 25 August.
DMRC said that the fare has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 4. Along with this, the fare has also been increased for the Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro said that the fare on the Airport Express Line has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 5.
Delhi Metro fare increased from Rs 11 to Rs 64
This decision of DSRC will directly affect those people who travel in metro daily for their office, school, college and business. According to Delhi Metro, the fare has been increased according to the distance of travel. According to the new fare, the starting fare for traveling in Delhi Metro has now been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. At the same time, the maximum fare has now increased from Rs 60 to Rs 64. Passengers will now have to pay more fare for traveling on national holidays and Sundays.

How much fare will have to be paid for how much distance
DMRC had fixed the metro fare for holidays from Rs 10 to Rs 50, which has now been increased from Rs 11 to Rs 54. According to DMRC, now the fare for 0-2 km will be Rs 11 instead of Rs 10, for 2-5 km it will be Rs 21 instead of Rs 20, for 5-12 km it will be Rs 32 instead of Rs 30, for 12-21 km it will be Rs 43 instead of Rs 40, for 21-32 km it will be Rs 54 instead of Rs 50 and for a journey of more than 32 km it will be Rs 64 instead of Rs 60. However, people using Delhi Metro card will continue to get 10 percent discount on the new ticket prices.
