Delhi Metro Latest News: The number of passengers traveling daily from Delhi Metro has become very high. People go to different places to get jobs in other cities including Gurugram, Noida and Delhi. In such a situation, passengers have to use token or smart card. Most of the passengers have to wait for their turn by standing in the queue for a long time to recharge the smart card or to buy the token.

In this way, a lot of time of passengers is wasted standing in line to recharge their card. But, now good news is coming out for the people traveling in the metro. In the coming days, people will not need a token or smart card to travel by metro. Instead, commuters can pay for their metro journey through their debit and credit cards. For this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is installing Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) at all metro stations.


Work underway at 44 Metro stations 

Work on this is being done at a fast pace by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. With the introduction of automatic fare collection, people will be able to travel more easily. During the fourth phase, AFC is being installed at 44 stations and other stations will be updated with this facility. With this facility, apart from smart cards, yatras will now be able to pay metro fares through debit and credit cards, Near Field Communication (NFC), QR code-based ticketing mobile phones and paper QR tickets. The new system will also help in creating higher fare zones in the metro network.
