Good news has come for those driving 10-15 year old cars in the national capital Delhi. CM Rekha Gupta’s government has given relief to old car owners and has withdrawn the decision to ban them. Now even old cars will get fuel at petrol pumps. Now old cars will not be seized at petrol pumps. Now there will be no ban on cars on the basis of age. Let us tell you that many people were expressing displeasure over the decision to ban vehicles and not give them fuel at the pumps.

Old vehicles will not be seized

The Delhi government has taken a U-turn on the decision regarding old cars. Now old cars will not be useless in Delhi but will run because the Rekha Gupta government has withdrawn the decisions implemented from July 1. That means now 10 year old diesel cars and 15 year old petrol cars will also get fuel at petrol pumps. Along with this, the Delhi government has also decided that old vehicles will no longer be seized at petrol pumps.

Then on what basis will action be taken against the vehicles?

After CM Rekha Gupta’s government withdrew the decision to ban old cars, even old cars will now get fuel at petrol pumps. Now cars will not be banned on the basis of age. Action will be taken on cars based on pollution. Diesel cars older than 10 years, petrol cars older than 15 years and scooties and motorcycles older than 15 years will also get fuel at petrol pumps.

What was the government’s earlier decision?

A new rule for pollution control was implemented in Delhi from July 1, under which petrol pumps were banned from giving fuel to 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles. For this, ANPR cameras were installed at petrol pumps. However, the Delhi government had to withdraw this decision just 2 days later.
