Flood situation in Delhi: Yamuna river in Delhi is flowing just one meter below the danger mark. Those living in low-lying areas of Yamuna have been shifted to safer places.

Impact of rains in the

Delhi Water Minister Satyendra Jain said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is ready to deal with any situation due to possible flooding in the national capital. It was also told that 5,883 cusecs of water should be released from Hathinikund barrage in Yamunanagar district of Haryana. After this, the Yamuna river water level in Delhi reached near the danger mark. The water was released at 8 am on Monday.

The water level of 204.38 meters, one meter below the danger mark in Delhi, was recorded at 8 am on Monday, which is less than the danger mark of 205.33 meters. The water level of Yamuna was 204.18 meters at 8 pm on Sunday. Officials said a water level of 204.32 meters was recorded at 3.30 pm on Monday. For the record, one cusec of water is equivalent to 28.317 liters per second.



The situation is under watch
Delhi’s Water Minister said that the AAP government is closely monitoring the situation and is working to ensure that all requirements are met to deal with any kind of flood-like situation. We have a flood-control system ready and will be activated when any situation demands it. The minister said that the government has made a plan in all the low-lying areas along the banks of the Yamuna, from Palla village to Okhla.
