The Delhi government says that this decision has been taken on the demand of Delhiites. According to CM Arvind Kejriwal, there was a demand of some people that they can pay the electricity bill, in such a situation why they are being given subsidy. Such people should now be given the option to leave the subsidy.
The application for subsidy on electricity has started from 14 September. There are about 58 lakh domestic consumers in Delhi. Out of which 47 electricity consumers get subsidy. At the same time, out of these 47 lakh consumers, there are 30 lakh such consumers whose electricity bills are zero. There are about 16 to 17 lakh consumers, whose electricity bills are half. Because Delhi has free electricity up to 200 units and half the rate from 201 to 400 units.
Those who register themselves by October 31, will continue to get subsidy on electricity from October 1. Those who register in November will have to pay the bill for October and will get subsidy from November. Similarly, those who fill the form in December, they will have to pay electricity bill in October and November and will get subsidy from December.
How to apply for subsidy
Method 1: By filling the form (offline)
- The Delhi government will also give a form along with the electricity bill next month.
- This form has to be filled to get subsidy.
- Fill the form and submit it at the center of the electricity bill.
- After this you will get a message on your registered mobile number that your subsidy will continue.
Second Method: From Mobile (Online)
- Delhi government has issued mobile 70113111111. Miss call on this number.
- Save this number in the mobile number and send it by typing HI on WhatsApp.
- After doing this an SMS will come, in which there will be a link.
- On clicking the link, the form will open. Fill the form and send it.
- After 3 days of applying, the information about the continuation of subsidy will be given on mobile through message or email.
Keep these things in mind
- Those who apply will get subsidy from the month of October.
- You can apply for continuation of subsidy till October 31.
- If you do not want to take subsidy then there is no need to do anything.
- Those who will apply in the month of November will have to pay the entire bill till last month.
