Delhi Coronavirus Railway News: Know which facilities will be equipped with Isolation Coach of Railways

New Delhi, Jagran Correspondent. Delhi Coronavirus Railway News: After the Union Home Minister Amit Shah took command of Delhi, the situation has started changing against the Corona virus infection in Delhi. In this episode, Indian Railways have also made isolation coaches at Anand Vihar railway station. 7 platforms of Anand Vihar railway station have been reserved for isolation coaches.



Oxygen cylinders were also placed in isolation coaches on the platforms of Anand Vihar railway terminal on Tuesday, as patients may need oxygen in an emergency. Plastic curtains were placed inside the coach to create isolation and the middle berth has been removed. In this way 16 beds are designed in a coach.

Isolation coaches at the railway station yard at Anand Vihar railway station are ready. Patients have no problem, so under the cleanliness, all coaches of the train have been thoroughly cleaned from inside and outside. As part of the cleaning process, the windows of the coach were closed with gauze and tape. With this, dust and dirty can be avoided in case of strong wind and storm.

  • The central government has directed the railways to build isolation wards in 500 rail coaches in Delhi.
  • Patients will be treated at other railway stations including Shakurbasti and Anand Vihar terminals with the help of Isolesh ward.
  • Northern Railway has 540 isolation coaches ready, out of which five hundred will be given to Delhi Government.
  • Eight thousand extra beds will be available in Delhi with 500 isolation coaches.
  • Isolation coaches will be installed at Shakurbasti Coaching Depot and Anand Vihar Terminal as well as other railway stations. 
  • New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations were included in the list of previously announced stations. But keeping in mind the train operations, such coaches are currently being installed at Shakurbasti and Anand Vihar terminals.
  • Simultaneously, it is under consideration to install them at Safdarjung, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Sarai Rohilla railway stations.
  • Sleeper coaches will have the sleeping bed of the patient at the lower berth.
  • A coach consists of nine cabins.
  • Patients will be kept in seven to eight cabins.
  • A cabin will be for health workers. Arrangements will be made to keep medicines and other essential items as per the need.
  • Arrangements have been made to keep medical equipment along with additional bottle holders near each seat.
  • Coach toilet has also been changed.
  • Each coach has one toilet each of Indian and Western style on both sides.
  • The Indian-style toilet has been converted into a bathroom.
  • A wooden platform has been prepared in the toilet. Along with this, arrangements have been made for hand shower, soap dish, bucket, mug etc.
  •  Railway administration will arrange water, electricity, cleanliness, security etc. Rail administration will also provide PPE Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit for health workers and others and three oxygen cylinders in each coach for patients.
  • Delhi government will be responsible for providing doctors and other paramedical staff in isolation coaches.
  • The Delhi government will also arrange equipment, medicines etc. for the care of patients.
