A total of 32 airports in northern and western India have been temporarily closed for all civilian flight operations. This ban is effective from 9 May 2025 to 14 May 2025 due to operational reasons as per Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
Amid tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi Airport on Sunday issued a travel advisory for passengers. Pakistan had demanded a ceasefire after 4 days of deadly clashes and started firing and sending drones again just hours after the ceasefire. Meanwhile, Delhi Airport has advised passengers to keep following official updates. Delhi Airport said that due to tensions between India and Pakistan, flight schedules may change. Also, it may take a long time at security checkpoints. In a statement, Delhi Airport said, “Operations are continuing smoothly, but due to changing airspace dynamics and high security protocols imposed by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, there may be changes in flight schedules and longer wait times at security checkpoints.”
Reach the airport on time
Delhi Airport said, “Passengers are advised to keep getting updates through their respective airline. Follow the guidelines laid down for cabin and check-in baggage. Reach the airport on time. Cooperate fully with the airline and security personnel. Also keep checking the flight status through the airline or Delhi Airport website. We urge all passengers to rely on official updates for accurate information and avoid rumors and unconfirmed information.

Meanwhile, the Airports Authority of India and related aviation authorities have said that a total of 32 airports in northern and western India have been temporarily closed for all civil flight operations. This ban is effective from 9 May 2025 to 14 May 2025 due to operational reasons as per Notice to Airmen (NOTAM). These 32 airports include Adampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, These include Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai airports.
