Dearness allowance of these employees increased by 10 percent, will be double profit in September

The Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance DA of BSNL employees. This increase came into effect this week. Due to this, the possibility of increased DA amount coming in the salary of September has increased. Also, the amount of HRA will also be affected.



The Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of BSNL employees. This increase came into effect this week. Due to this, the possibility of increased DA amount coming in the salary of September has increased. Also, the amount of HRA will also be affected. That too is likely to increase. That means they will get double benefit.

According to the order of the Finance Ministry, the amount of DA has increased from 159.9% to 170.5%. Now people working on the board level and below board level posts of BSNL will get DA at this increased rate. This DA is increased for those employees who are getting salary on the basis of 2007 pay revision. It also includes non-executive employees.

DA placed at 159.9%

According to the order of Assistant General Manager (Estt.I) Sanjeev Kumar, there will be no effect on the amount of DA of 01.10.2020, 01.01.2021 and 01.04.2021. DA Freeze was kept during that time. The DA for 01.10.2020 to 30.06.2021 has been kept at 159.9%.

VRS given to 78,323 people

Recently, the government has said that there were a total of 1,49,577 employees in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), out of which 78,323 people have retired under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chouhan said that the total number of employees of BSNL as on 1 January 2020 was 1,49,577. After this, 78,323 employees have voluntarily retired under VRS.

No payment due

Chouhan informed that there is no outstanding amount of payment to be made by the department to BSNL in respect of the employees opting for VRS. The department has paid an amount of Rs 13,542.05 crore to BSNL as ex-gratia amount for the employees opting for VRS.

Caste certificate verification pending

He said that BSNL has informed that only a few employees whose vigilance clearance and verification of caste certificate are pending, the ex-gratia amount has not been paid.

Landline phone enlarged



Referring to landline phones, Chouhan said that as on March 31, 2019, there were 2.17 lakh connections in different states of the country, which decreased to 1.91 lakh in 2020. However, it increased in 2021 and it increased to 2.02 crores. He said that the landline phone connections increased to 2.16 crore as on 31 May 2021.
