Dearness allowance increased: DA of government employees of this state increased by 34%, check details including arrears

Dearness allowance Hike: The wait for dearness allowance of central employees is getting longer. Meanwhile, the Odisha government has increased the dearness allowance of its employees.


New Delhi. Before Navratri, good news has come for the government employees. Ahead of the festive season, the Odisha government on Monday announced an increase in Dearness Allowance for state government employees. According to the new notification, the dearness allowance has been increased by 3 percent. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday approved a proposal to increase dearness allowance for state government employees.

Government employees will get 8 months arrears

Along with this, dearness allowance of Odisha government employees has been increased to 34 percent from the current 31 percent. The increase in dearness allowance will be considered as applicable from January 1, 2022 i.e. employees will also get 8 months arrears.


This decision of the state government will benefit 4 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners. According to the government notification, the arrears of dearness allowance from January to August will be paid separately.

Central government can also increase DA

According to media reports, the central government can also increase the DA of its employees by 4 percent. If this happens, dearness allowance of government employees will increase to 38 percent. At present, the central government employees are getting 34 percent DA. This decision of the government will benefit the central employees and pensioners of the country.
