New Delhi. After the decision of the Union Cabinet, the states have also started giving increased dearness allowance to their employees. Jharkhand government has announced to give 38 percent DA and DR to the employees and pensioners of the state.

Earlier, the Union Cabinet had increased the DA by 4 per cent, after which the effective dearness allowance was increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. After this, the cabinet headed by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has also announced to increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent. Enhanced Dearness Allowance to employees and pensioners will be given from July 1, 2022. Its outstanding amount will be paid in the form of arrears. This decision will benefit 2 lakh government employees and 1.35 lakh pensioners.

State Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said, the Council of Ministers approved several proposals during the meeting, in which the decision to increase the DA of government employees by 4 percent is the main one. Apart from this, 4 percent increased DR will also be given to the pensioners. This increase in salary will be applicable from July 1 and the employees and pensioners will be paid at the rate of 38 percent.

The Jharkhand cabinet has also approved 19 other proposals along with DA-DR, in which it was decided to conduct the body elections of the year 2023 without OBC reservation . Dadel said, elections will be held next year and OBC seat will be treated as an unreserved seat. Apart from this, the proposal to buy 21 SUVs for the judges of Jharkhand High Court has also been approved.

How much will the salary increase

After 4% increase in DA of employees, their salary will increase by thousands of rupees. Suppose the basic salary of an employee is 40 thousand rupees, then till now he was paid Rs 13,600 under 34 percent DA. Now that employee will be paid 38 percent DA i.e. Rs 15,200. In this way, the salary will increase by Rs 1,600 from next month. That is, a total salary of Rs 19,200 will increase in the year.
