The government has opened the vault for the central employees. For January 2023, the dearness allowance has increased to 42%. Now it is time for the next preparation. DA Hike is revised twice a year. Now the next turn is in July 2023. Dearness allowance for the period from January to June will be increased after July.

This will be applicable from 1st July. Its basis will also be the CPI-IW figures. The figures for January have arrived. Now the number of February has to come, which will come on 31 March. Waiting to see how fast it will go. But, it is certain that preparations have been made for the increase in July. Experts are assuming that there will be an increase of 4% in the future as well. There is both logic and reason behind this.

4% dearness allowance will increase again

At present the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees is 42%. It has been approved only on 24 March. This time an increase of 4% was made. Earlier, 38% dearness allowance was being given. The numbers of AICPI index for January 2023 have started coming. The January index has gained 0.5 points.

This means that the next increase in dearness allowance is certain. This increase will be on the CPI-IW numbers from January to June. It will be announced in the month of October. But, it will be implemented from 1 July 2023.

How much has the index number increased?

The way is getting cleared for the increase in DA/DR in July. The CPI-IW index for January 2023 has reached 132.8. Now the score has increased by 1% for central employees and pensioners. Means the dearness allowance till December 2022 was 42.37%. On this basis, his dearness allowance was fixed at 42%, which has been implemented from January 1, 2023. Now the numbers coming for July have increased by 1%.

This means that now the dearness allowance has reached 43.08%. However, the CPI-IW numbers for February, March, April, May, June are yet to come. Only after this it will be final that how much the next DA/DR will increase. According to experts, the rate at which inflation is increasing. It is clear from that that there will be only 4% increase for the employees in future also.

How much will be the next dearness allowance?

Under the 7th pay commission, there has been a 1% increase in the dearness allowance for July 2023. Means it has become 43%. Even if there is no change in the index numbers in the coming months, the dearness allowance will increase by 3%.

In such a situation it will reach 45%. But, it is not possible that the index number will remain constant in the next five months. Therefore, there is a possibility of further growth of 1% in it. In this situation the dearness allowance will be 46%. That means a total gain of 4% can be seen.

New data will come on 31 March

How the index will be in February 2023 will be decided on 31 March. On the evening of March 31, the Labor Bureau under the Ministry of Labor will release the number of the index. Further calculation can be seen on the basis of this number. Till then, let us assume that on the basis of index numbers, there is bound to be an increase of 3-4% in Dearness Allowance.
