7th Pay Commission: Modi government has given a big gift to government employees and pensioners before Diwali. The increase in dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . With the increase of 4 percent in dearness allowance, it has been increased from 42 percent to 46 percent.
Approval given to increase dearness allowance
A cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in which the increase in dearness allowance was approved. There are chances that the salary for the month of October will be given to the central employees and pensioners along with the increase in dearness allowance. Arrears for July to September can also be given to central employees and pensioners along with the salary for the month of October.
Gift received on Navratri before Diwali
The festival of Navratri has started from 15th October. Dussehra is on 24th October. Diwali is on 12th November 2023. In such a situation, during the festive season, the Modi government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners. This decision of the Central Government will benefit 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners.
Will get relief from inflation
With the increase in dearness allowance, central employees and pensioners will get great relief from inflation. There has been a strong increase in food inflation in recent times. However, the retail inflation rate has fallen to 5.02 percent in September, which was 6.83 percent in August. Earlier in July 2023, the retail inflation rate had reached 7.44 percent. Food inflation rate came down to 6.56 percent in September which was 9.94 percent in August. But the prices of wheat, rice, arhar dal and sugar have troubled the common people due to which the kitchen budget has deteriorated. In such a situation, relief is expected from the increase in dearness allowance.
