Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has gifted increased dearness allowance to all officers, employees and pensioners. They will get this allowance from July 1, 2023 last year. They will get this allowance from July 1, 2023 last year.

According to the order issued by UPCL Managing Director Anil Kumar, till now the corporation employees were getting 42 percent dearness allowance. From July 1, 2023, it has been increased by four percent to 46 percent. Special pay, personal pay or other pay will not be included in the calculation of dearness allowance.

Employees covered by EPF will be paid 12 percent of the arrears of dearness allowance in cash after deducting EPF. On the other hand, the corporation has also increased the dearness allowance for all pensioners to 46 percent. They will also be given this allowance from July 1st. Thousands of employees and pensioners of the corporation will benefit from this.

Upanal contract workers asked for dearness allowance

On the other hand, State President of Uttarakhand Electricity Contract Employees Organization (INTUC) Vinod Kavi demanded that they should also be given variable dearness allowance. An order in this regard was issued earlier, which was later banned. He said that the risk of sewerage workers working in the Energy Corporation is extremely high. Therefore, a proposal to give them dearness allowance should be brought in the cabinet.
