Since the announcement of DA, unions of central employees are continuously demanding the dearness allowance. It is reported that pensioners have also raised a demand regarding arrears of Dearness relief. There is a discussion that by Diwali, a solution can be found from the government on this issue. Because, after this another DA hike is to be announced.

DA Arrear then big money will come
The arrears were discussed in a meeting held in June between the National Council of JCM, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Finance Minister. However, no concrete answer was received. DA was announced in the cabinet too but no talk was made on arrears. In the monsoon session of Parliament, the government made it clear that there is no idea to give arrears. The employees are still adamant on the demand and talks are on with the government. If central employees get arrears of DA arrears under 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC), then it will be a huge amount.

The amount of arrears is more than 2 lakhs

According to Shiv Gopal Mishra of the National Council of JCM (Staff Side), the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. Whereas, for Level-13 (7th CPC basic pay scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (pay scale), the DA arrears in the hands of an employee will be Rs 1,44,200. 2,18,200 will be paid.
