CM Rekha Gupta assured students will be given concession in Delhi Metro travelling soon

On the lines of the discounts given in DTC and cluster buses in Delhi, in the coming days, students will also be able to travel on concessional fares in the metro. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave this assurance to the students on Thursday during the launch of the U-Special bus service started for DU students.

While starting the facility of university special buses, the Delhi government also gave information about the scheme of giving concession to students in metro travel. It was told that the Delhi government is going to provide relief to thousands of students in metro as well. The Delhi government is working on this.

Metro concessions will be announced soon: CM

CM Rekha Gupta said on the occasion of the launch of U Bus service, our government is working on giving concession to students in the metro as well. It will be announced in some time. Let us tell you that in the assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had raised the issue of giving concession in the metro and had also written a letter to the central government for this.

Delhi CM wrote in his social media post that now this U-Special will take you from the college gate to your home in a safe and convenient manner. Our government is also working on a metro pass for students, so that both education and travel become comfortable.

Today inaugurated the U-Special EV bus service from Delhi University Sports Complex. This service which was closed for years has now been started again for the students of Delhi University.

Special buses will connect different campuses

Regarding this scheme, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta wrote in a post on X- The 25 University Special Buses started today will ensure safe, reliable and dedicated connectivity for students. These new buses will directly connect North Campus, South Campus, JNU, IIT Delhi and other institutions. The schedule of these buses has been kept in sync with college timings so that students can get maximum convenience.

Earlier, the Chief Minister re-launched the U bus service in Delhi. This bus was discontinued after Covid in the year 2020. But when the CM went to Delhi University for a program, she talked about launching the bus again.

30 buses will run on 25 different routes

These buses will not only connect DU but also JNU, IIT and other campus colleges. These buses will run on 25 different routes. Under this scheme, 30 buses will be run for students. 20 big buses of 12 meters length will be run under this scheme. Also, 9 meter buses will be of Devi scheme. These buses will run from 7 am to 5 pm.

Students can also scan their favourite songs in the bus and request them to be played. DTC has also set up its own radio station. It was told that this station will work in Jaipur for now. After a few days, its setup will be installed in DTC in Delhi.
