Children Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar card is an important document in the country and it is important for everyone from elders to children. Although, people are not very aware about children’s Aadhar card, but it is a very useful thing. Now some changes have also taken place, which you should know. According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), separate forms should be used for Aadhaar enrollment and upgrading for adult residents above 18 years of age and children aged 0-5 and 5-18. UIDAI made this announcement through an office memorandum on February 6, 2023.

Earlier, in column number 5 and 8 of the form for 0-5 and 5-18 age group it was stated that birth certificate with baby name is not allowed. But after further consideration this decision was canceled with immediate effect.


According to the new memo from UIDAI last month, ‘In the form for children of age 0-5 and 5-18, under column number 5 and 8 it is mentioned that ‘Birth certificate with the name of the child is not allowed. Is’. The matter has been reconsidered and the above decision has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

Parents should keep these things in mind,

at the time of enrollment of child’s Aadhaar, along with biometric authentication of one of the parents, Aadhaar numbers of both the parents will have to be given. According to the UIDAI website, ‘No biometrics will be taken for children below 5 years of age. Their UID will be processed based on demographic information and facial photograph linked to their parents’ UID. These children will have to update the biometrics of their ten fingers, iris and facial photograph when they turn 5 and 15 years of age.

How to register children’s Aadhar card offline

  • Visit the nearest Aadhar Card Enrollment Centre.
  • Fill the relevant form for Aadhar Card of children.
  • Submit the form along with birth certificate and Aadhar card of parents.
  • Provide Aadhar card information and mobile number of parents.
  • After the verification process, the child’s photograph will be taken. Biometrics of children below five years of age will not be taken.
  • If the child is five years old or older, a photograph and biometric data such as an iris scan and fingerprint will be taken.
  • Save the sleep given to you for future reference.
  • Then you will get a message within 60 days and meanwhile you will get Baal Aadhaar within that time limit.
