ChatGPT New Feature: OpenAI has added a new feature to ChatGPT, the Personal Finance Experience, to help users understand where their money is going and help them plan for the future.
ChatGPT New Feature: OpenAI has launched a new feature, Personal Finance Experience, in ChatGPT. This allows users to connect their bank account, credit card, investment, and expense information directly to ChatGPT. OpenAI says the new feature will showcase all this information in one place, allowing users to easily understand where their money is being spent and how to plan for the future.
Users will be able to connect their financial accounts to this system through a secure service called Plaid. According to OpenAI, over 12,000 financial institutions are currently supported. Once the account is connected, ChatGPT will display a dashboard displaying expenses, investments, subscriptions, upcoming bills, and other financial information. Users won’t be limited to viewing data, but will also be able to ask ChatGPT questions. For example, someone might ask, “How much do I need to save each month if I want to buy a car next year?” Or, “Which subscriptions can I cancel to reduce my expenses?” ChatGPT will then respond based on the user’s income, expenses, and goals.
Financial memory can also be saved
OpenAI said that users can also ask ChatGPT to remember details related to their financial plans. For example, someone might mention that they’re saving money to buy a house or want to pay off a family loan. ChatGPT will save this information as a financial memory, making future conversations more personal and useful. However, users can delete these memories at any time if they wish.
Privacy and safety are also provided
The company has also emphasized security and privacy. OpenAI says ChatGPT will only be able to view information such as balances, expenses, investments, and liabilities. It will not be able to view full bank account numbers or perform any transactions. Users can disconnect their accounts at any time, after which the data will be deleted from the system within 30 days.
This feature is based on the latest model
- OpenAI said that this feature is based on the GPT-5.5 thinking model.
- It is specifically designed to understand complex economic questions.
- The company has investigated this in collaboration with more than 50 financial experts.
- “Connecting my finances to ChatGPT helped me understand how to pay off my home loan with a smart monthly plan,” said psychologist Dr. Richard K. Son, one of OpenAI’s early testers.
You can also get tax advice and credit card applications
The company believes that in the future, ChatGPT will not only be limited to providing advice, but will also be able to assist with tax advice, credit card applications, and investment-related tasks. Currently, the Personal Finance Experience feature has been launched as a preview for ChatGPT Pro users in the US. The company says that after initial experience and feedback, it will be gradually rolled out to other users.
