Changes from 1st August: New UPI rules are going to be implemented from August 1. The new rules include many limitations. Also, a change related to SBI credit card will also be implemented.
Changes from 1st August: Every month there is a change in some rules related to money, which affect your pocket. Similarly, there will be some changes in the next month i.e. August, which will affect you. The biggest change among these is going to be regarding UPI rules. If you use digital payment apps like Google Pay, Phone Pay and Paytm, then this change will affect you. Apart from this, on the first date of every month, government oil companies fix the price of LPG. If there is an increase in prices, it will affect your budget.
New UPI rules will be implemented from August 1
National Payment Corporation of India i.e. NPCI has announced many changes related to the UPI system. These changes will come into effect from August 1, 2025. A revised guideline has come regarding the use of API by all banks and digital payment platforms. Features like auto-pay and balance inquiry are also being covered in this. With these changes, UPI service will be able to remain stable even during high-traffic times. The new guideline will impose some restrictions on many functions like balance inquiry and transaction status updates.
How will the new guideline affect you?
- The new guideline will not affect your UPI payments. However, some limitations will be imposed.
- You will be able to check the balance only 50 times a day from the UPI app.
- The installment of auto-pay transactions will now be processed in 3 time slots only. Before 10 am, from 1 pm to 5 pm and after 9.30 pm.
- You will not be able to check the bank account linked to your mobile number more than 25 times a day.
- You will be able to check the status of a failed transaction only 3 times in a day. There should be a minimum gap of 90 seconds each time.
Changes related to credit card
This change is for SBI credit card users. SBI is ending the free air accident insurance cover available on many co-branded credit cards from August 11. Currently, SBI Cards, in collaboration with some banks, provides free air accident insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh or Rs 1 crore on Elite and Prime cards.
Gas cylinder prices
Government oil companies fix LPG prices on the first of every month. If the price of gas cylinder fluctuates, it will affect your kitchen budget. On the first of July, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 60. However, there was no change in the price of LPG cylinder. In such a situation, this time a change in the price of this gas cylinder can be seen.
CNG-PNG and ATF prices
Along with LPG gas, oil companies also change the prices of ATF i.e. Air Turbine Fuel on the first of the month. ATF is used as fuel in aircraft. Also, CNG-PNG prices may change in August. The last change in CNG-PNG prices was in April.
Banks will remain closed for 15 days
A lot of holidays are coming in the month of August. Banks are going to remain closed for a total of 15 days in different zones in August. Festivals like Rakhi, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Independence Day are coming in August.
