No challan on DL, RC, PUC and insurance: Good news for drivers! Now you can drive without DL, RC, PUC and insurance, know your rights

New Traffic Rule: Till now only challan was deducted for driving two wheeler without wearing helmet, but Mumbai Traffic Police has started a new rule, under which driving license of such vehicle drivers also suspended for 3 months. Will be done.

Driving license can also be suspended for three months in addition to normal e-challan for driving without a helmet. Via a YouTube video, Mumbai Traffic Police has announced a new SOP to crack down on such drivers.

Officials said that not only will the driver’s license be suspended if he is caught driving a two-wheeler without a helmet, but it will also be mandatory for such people to watch a two-hour awareness video about traffic rules.

Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey, in his Facebook Live session, had announced that riding without a helmet is dangerous and directed registration of an FIR against criminals for speeding. After discussion, it was decided not to register an FIR, but implemented an SOP.

The traffic police is coordinating with all the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) as they have the power to suspend the licence. “Every challan for riding without a helmet will be sent to the RTO immediately and the driving license of the vehicle driver will be suspended for the next three months.

DCP (Traffic) Raj Tilak Roshan said such drivers would be sent to the nearest traffic chowk where they would have to watch a two-hour video on defensive driving and traffic rules. Roshan said that the traffic police has issued 75,000 challans for riders without helmets last month.

The traffic police also plans to show videos on traffic rules in schools and colleges as most road accidents involve juvenile victims or young riders. Roshan, through a separate YouTube video, appealed to the management of schools and colleges to screen these videos and allot slots to traffic chowki personnel to educate students and establish traffic discipline.

Let us tell you that at present this rule has been implemented only in Mumbai. However, the state governments are trying to curb road accidents as well as deaths in accidents. Helmet acts as a shield for any two wheeler rider and can save lives in many cases.
