Now it has been decided that there will be no division and distinction in CBSE class 10th and 12th board exams. A senior official of the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) gave this information today. Board’s Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that now no overall division will be given to any candidate in class 10th and 12th board examination nor will any distinction or aggregate marks be given. He further said that apart from this, if a candidate has presented more than five subjects then the admission institution or employer can decide which are the top 5 subjects to be taken.

Where will there be a need for the option to choose top five subjects?

Sanyam Bhardwaj said that the board does not calculate the marks of the children and does not disclose the percentage obtained. Now in such a situation, if there is a need to know how many marks are obtained for higher education or employment, then it can be done by the admission giving institution or the hiring employer.

CBSE has already said goodbye to the merit list

CBSE Board keeps taking decisions from time to time to eliminate unhealthy competitions in examinations. Some time ago, it had abolished the system of releasing the merit list, that is, it had abolished the terms like Top, Top-3, Top-5 or Top-5. The board stopped giving percentage. Now it has also decided to stop the system of division and distinction.
