CBSE New Decision: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given conditional permission to schools to admit up to 45 students in a class.

In normal circumstances, the limit is 40 students in a section, but under special circumstances this number can now be increased to 45 from first to 12th.

However, CBSE has made it clear that under no circumstances more than 45 students will be allowed.

This decision has been taken keeping in mind those cases where children have to transfer in the middle of the session, especially for those families whose parents are employed in defense services, central government, public sector undertakings or private sector.

Apart from this, this exemption can also be applied for essential repeat, serious medical reasons, transfer from hostel and improvement in academic performance.

CBSE said that the schools will have to maintain the record of all such admissions in the admission and withdrawal register and register it on the CBSE portal and Osis portal as per the need.

The board has also laid down the condition that up to 45 students will be allowed only if the area of the respective class is not less than 500 square feet and one square meter space is ensured for each student.
