Casual leaves for women employees: Good news! Odisha Govt announces 10 days extra casual leaves for women employees

Casual leaves for women: Many special steps are being taken by the Central Government as well as the State Government to advance the women of the country. Now the state government has increased the leave given to women. Odisha state government has given a gift to women. Naveen Patnaik Government of Odisha has given a big concession to the women of the state and said that women working in government departments will now get 10 days extra casual leave in addition to 15 days.

The state government has decided to extend the leave in view of the domestic responsibilities and other problems of women. The Chief Minister’s Office in Odisha said on Tuesday that Odisha was the only state to announce about 33 percent reservation in government jobs during the 90s. Odisha state was the first to announce 33 percent reservation. Last week itself, the state government had announced paternity leave with salary of 180 days for women block grant employees.

State specific scheme amount doubled

Along with this, it was announced to double the amount of a state specific scheme for pregnant women and lactating women. It was decided to increase this amount from Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000. This scheme was launched in 2011. This scheme was started to reduce the death ratio of children in the state. More than 60 lakh pregnant women have benefited from this scheme so far.

First 15 days holiday was announced

Earlier, the state government had announced 15 days of casual leave for the employees working in non-government aided educational institutions.

The state government had launched the Mission Shakti Scooter Scheme for women in the month of October last year. Under this scheme, the state government had announced an interest-free loan of up to Rs 1 lakh for 2 lakh women to buy scooters. The state government has allocated Rs 528 crore for this loan.
