Budget 2024: The scope of Ayushman Yojana has been increased in the budget, now these people will also get free treatment.

Budget 2024: Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers have also been included under the Ayushman scheme. Now they will also be able to take advantage of free treatment and health care related facilities.


Budget 2024: Modi government has presented its interim budget today. While presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that we are now going to expand the scope of Ayushman scheme. From now on, Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers have also been included under the Ayushman scheme. Anganwadi and Asha workers and helpers will now be able to avail free treatment and facilities related to medical health care.

What is Ayushman Yojana?

Families covered under Ayushman Yojana get the facility of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is the world’s largest publicly funded health insurance scheme that provides coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

Till December 27 last year, 55 crore people from 12 crore families were covered under this scheme. Presenting the interim budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is the priority of the government to provide adequate and timely finance to MSMEs.

Families who come under this scheme can avail free treatment and medical health care up to Rs 5 lakh every year. It has also been included in government and private hospitals of the country. If a person covered under this scheme is admitted to the hospital, then the government pays the expenses for the tests conducted one week before admission and up to 10 days after discharge. Many serious diseases including cancer and kidney are treated under this scheme.

Modi government’s big announcement regarding women

The government is soon going to launch a scheme for the prevention of cervical cancer. Under which girls aged 9-14 years will be given free vaccine. Apart from this, Anganwadi centers will also be developed.

In order to empower women, the Finance Minister, while presenting the budget, said that the government’s target is to create 3 crore Lakhpati Didis in the coming 5 years. Till now, more than one crore women in the country have become Lakhpati Didi.
