BSNL Family Recharge Plan: Big news! Everyone will get 75GB data and free calling, see plan details

The development assumes significance as ailing BSNL added a staggering 88,779 connections in October alone, topped by the Kerala circle with 15,793 new connections, followed by the Tamil Nadu circle with 10,539 new connections.

NEW DELHI: State-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will offer free broadband connection installation in the Kerala circle for a limited period, the Twitter handle of its Kerala circle tweeted recently.

Furthermore, the exemption from installation charges covers other services as well such as new broadband connection, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), and landline connection.

However, there are certain terms and conditions levied on the offer. The first one is that the offer will be applicable for new subscribers only. The second condition is that the eligible subscribers will be able to avail of the offer only when they purchase a broadband plan having a validity of at least six months or more.

BSNL Kerala also mentioned that LCO provisioning charges might be applicable for FTTH users.

Most importantly, the offer is valid only in Kerala and the operator, as of now, has not yet indicated its plans to extend the same in other parts of the country.

It further plans to add around 1 lakh FTTH customers per month and has seen its broadband business gaining momentum on account of affordable plans.

As of now, the telco is providing more than 85,000 connections per month, as per media reports.

BSNL’s base FTTH ‘Fiber Basic’ plan is priced at Rs 449 that offers benefits such as up to 30Mbps speeds to 3300 GB. However, the speed gets capped at 2Mbps once the data limit has been exhausted. Additionally, it offers unlimited calling on any network pan-India.

Its expensive BSNL Premium Fibre plan is priced at Rs 999 and offers 200Mbps speed 3300GB data limit after which the speed gets reduced to 2Mbps. This plan comes with a free premium membership to Disney+ Hotstar.
